One Book That Changed My Direction In Life

There is always that one book.

We find it at various times of our life. Often when we need it most.

For me, the book was “The Power of the Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy written in 1963.

When I came across this book, I was on my quest for understanding.

My thirst for truth lead me to find this book that drastically altered my frame of thinking forever.

Here was the major lesson I found:

Our mind is comprised of two different operating systems, working together.

The Conscious Mind

  1. This is the logic or reasoning mind. It is proactive of the two which chooses. For instance, we choose books, podcasts, and our partner in life.

The Subconscious Mind

  1. This mind accepts what is impressed upon it consciously. There is no reasoning like the conscious mind does.

How they work:

When we think, we think with the conscious mind, and whatever we habitually think of sinks into the subconscious mind, which ultimately creates according to the nature of your thoughts.

The subconscious mind is connected to our highest faculties . Through this mind, we are able to tap into the powers of the universe / infinite mind / God to cultivate the reality we desire in almost effortless ways.

The subconscious mind is the door to your emotions and is also the creative mind.

The key point to remember is once the subconscious mind accepts ‘any’ idea, it begins to execute it. A powerful truth that works in both good and bad ways.

Therefore if you think good, good will follow; likewise, if you think evil, evil will follow. This is the fundamental way our subconscious mind works.

This quote reflects the beauty and power of the mind(s)

Your subconscious is like the soil, which accepts any kind of seed of thought, good or bad. We choose the seed [thought] to place via our conscious decision. – Joseph Murphy

Hence the subconscious will ONLY engage in response to what is given to it.

Simply put, if you consciously think of something is true, even if it may be false, your subconscious will accept and proceed to bring forth results that reflect this.

Once I understood this, I realized how my belief systems impacted my conscious decisions which impacted my ability to attain success.

We have this divine biological hardware [brain] and software [mind] that we all are born with. With this knowledge, you have all you need to carve your reality.
